Here's my general process for making creations. Every person and circumstance is different, so this might not work for you.

The first thing that I do is keep a long list of project ideas. This allows ideas to sit in the background, perhaps accumulating inspiration along the way, over a period of weeks or months. Honestly, the way I make that list is not ideal, so I will not elaborate further.

Once I have chosen a promising idea, I will meticulously plan out the project. I will first do a brain dump of my "initial ideas," followed by trying to make connections to any previous projects I have done. Sometimes projects have similarities, enabling me to benefit from past experience. Once that step is done, I break the project down into the smallest and most manageable steps I can anticipate, as well as setting a sufficiently well-defined goal.

Setting an appropriate goal is hard and something even I don't claim to master, but it generally prevents the project from getting off track or ballooning beyond what I bargained for. I will also usually set a target time frame of how much and how long I want to work on a specific project, which also helps to maintain balance between different projects/topics I'm working on (my life is not dominated by TPT).

Again, this might not work for you, but at least I claim to make a relatively detailed description, not vague magic philosophical non-solutions like "friction."

 Then take a break. It doesn't hurt to take a break; I get burnout all the time and take breaks.
