Cyan tool/element selection option?

When you select an element or tool with the left, middle, or right mouse button, it outlines their selection button with red, green, or blue, accordingly. I see that the particle eraser tool starts off with a cyan outline around it. Does that mean there's some special button I can use to use the particle eraser? Does that mean there's a fourth button I can assign to whatever element or tool I choose?

Yeah there's a secret 4th selection tool. You can use ctrl+alt to select it, it's for replace mode.
