Electronics Help

So I am trying to make semi/fully destroyable engines, and I need a way to activate (It is the powered semi-conductor that only conducts a spark if over 100°C) the material in an engine, but the issue I am running into is that I have battery on one end of the stuff connected to the semi-conductor and the output for the electrical current waiting to receive a spark on the other, and naturally, the semi-conductor in the middle waiting to heat up. The problem is is that the spark keeps cooling down the semi-conductor before it can heat up to over 100°C so it can fully conduct the spark and then transfer the electricity to the LCRY display I have set up. Help?

I don't think its the spark, the semi-conductor automatically cools itself down to room temperature.
