LightningBMW: it is if the rings form from an object captured in orbit expesually if they are relatively young because not all orbits around something like a star are aligned with each other, but the rings will slowly align with the equator over time expesually if the planet has a fast rotation.

pretty sure its entirely possible and fairly normal for gas giants to have bands that arent aligned with their rings.

maybe tracing could work like print a picture of rings and put it over the screen and like trace from the lines
