  brockjab: the ENTIRE point of an APFSDS is to cause damage by spall (And itself shattering). Adding an explosive filler makes it lighter, greatly decreasing penetration and making ballistics worser, and you CANNOT physically fit a sane amount of tnt inside a thin tube like an APFSDS dart. maximum 20 grams maybe, and making a fuse for that means making space for the fuse means no space for depleted uranium/tungsten so even WORSER penetration
