    Bring in armored engineering, mining, clearing, and construction vehicles, and use mine clearers (big spiky ball that can be exploded a lot and survive, also tanks and other vehicles with mine flails) to clear out minefields. Send in medical and military teams to find and rescue any troops remaining, where they will be honorably discharged for their service. (i doubt any want to fight after all that)
