    And how does it grow so fast? Is the wood really hollow? Is it really weak structurally? Would that make it easy for it to fall over and die? Does it increase susceptibility to things like fungus? It'd be useful to know.

    The tree basically grows in a few months, looks small but throughout summer and spring it spreads thousands of seeds

    A virus that works between multiple species will probably be more likely to spread to other plants that aren't the intended targets. It will also probably be easier to detect. For now, we need more information about the actual tree. For now, we only work on the tree virus, okay?
