    DragonEggLol Your researchers have discovered that the shoggoths possess 3 vital organs, their brain happens to be within their large torso, and thus is heavily protected by muscle, tissue, and whatever slime covers them. In their head lies the organ that produces the slime, they seem to draw their nutrients from the substance and it explains why they have to transform the landscape. In their middle eye lies a sort of "heart", small, but it pumps black blood into their body.

    Umm The fire will need to be transported in a heavily insulated ship, as nobody can really remain near the flame for long without getting heatstroke or dehydration issues. Tests will be run once the fire is in containment up north.
